EDGE STUDIO
Year
2006
Developed back in the dark ages of 2005/2006 when we had to turn to Flash to deliver innovative user interfaces, the Edge Studio site features a unique spatial navigational scheme well-suited to an innovative architectural practice.
Today, this site would be done with HTML5, tuned for both desktop and mobile browsers, and fluidly adapt to different screen sizes.
Edge had been maintaining their site manually, with each new project requiring a significant investment of time from an in-house Flash developer. After our usual upfront analysis process, we promptly created a database that could capture all of the relevant project information and media. A flexible tagging system allows visitors to quickly find projects relevant to their needs.
Easy media upload, management, and presentation was a key requirement. We created simple tools to allow non-technical users (usually marketing staff and/or interns) to upload project documentation and author multimedia presentations using simple drag-and-drop methods.
